Important information you need to know about lowering your property taxes.
Have your property taxes increased lately? Chances are they have. Home values have exploded over the last few years, and a lot of homeowners have found themselves paying higher taxes as a result.
However, you should know that some home prices in our area have come down recently. As a result, **you might be able to file an appeal and lower your property taxes. **
“No one should have to pay more taxes than they need to.”
Essentially, if you disagree with what the county tax assessor has valued your home at, you can file an appeal with the Assessment Appeals Board. For the fiscal year of 2022 to 2023, you must file your appeal between July 2 and November, so you still have time. That being said, make sure you hurry. The last thing you want is to end up paying extra taxes because you missed the deadline.
If you need help filing your appeal, check out the county website or reach out to me via phone or email. I’d be more than happy to walk you through the process.
No one should have to pay more taxes than they need to. File your appeal before the deadline and save tons of money this fiscal year. I look forward to hearing from you!
